NHS Pharmacy First service

Get support and advice on 7 common conditions at your pharmacy without visiting your GP.

What is Pharmacy First?

The Pharmacy First scheme was introduced by the NHS as an alternative method of accessing professional healthcare advice and treatment for seven common conditions without the need to visit your GP.

Our pharmacies are trained and equipped to carry-out medical consultations and provide prescription treatment where needed. There’s no charge for the service, but you’ll still pay for any medication provided at the current NHS prescription charge, unless exempt.

What conditions can NHS Pharmacy First help with?

Pharmacy First is an NHS service that makes it easier and quicker to get treatment for a range of common conditions without needing to see a GP.

Specially trained pharmacists can assess your symptoms, offer expert advice, and provide treatment where appropriate.

This helps you get the care you need sooner, while also easing pressure on GP services.
